Why it works: it captures the central event of the wedding — the joining of two people into one named household — and gives them a piece they can hang in every house they live in for the next fifty years. The "EST. [year]" line ages well; even decades later it reads as a celebratory marker rather than dated.

Recommended specs: 30-36 inches wide, 12mm Baltic birch (or walnut for premium gifting), walnut or espresso stain, Dancing Script or Great Vibes font. Wedding Cake Toppers

The cake topper is a small but high-impact piece — 5-9 inches wide, sitting on top of the wedding cake, photographed in every cake-cutting picture. Standard formats: couple names ("Sarah & James"), date ("MAY 25, 2026"), single word ("love" or "forever"), or "Mr & Mrs [Last Name]".

Most cake toppers we ship are 5mm Baltic birch with food-safe finish, prong attachments for cake insertion, and a flowing script font. Average size 6-8 inches for standard 8-10 inch cakes; larger 8-10 inches for tiered wedding cakes.

Ceremony Welcome Signs

The welcome sign greets guests as they arrive at the ceremony venue — typically near the entrance, sometimes at the seating directional point. Format: "WELCOME TO [Couple's First Names] WEDDING" with the date below, sized 24-36 inches wide on an easel or hanging stand.

Materials: 12mm Baltic birch with a stain or paint finish, depending on whether the ceremony is rustic outdoor (raw birch or walnut stain), modern minimalist (white paint), or traditional (espresso stain). Font: classic serif for formal weddings, script for romantic, bold sans for modern.

Reception Backdrops and Photo Walls

Larger feature signs — 48-72 inches wide — used as ceremony backdrops, sweetheart table backdrops, or photo walls at the reception. Format varies: family monogram, "Mr. & Mrs. [Name]," or a meaningful quote in large sculptural lettering.

For backdrops we use 12mm Baltic birch with reinforced backing, or solid hardwood for premium installations. Mounting: floor-standing freestanding (with a cherry or walnut base), wall-mounted, or hung from a frame structure.

Production for backdrop pieces is 3-4 weeks plus shipping. Order at least 8 weeks early. Many wedding planners place the order before the venue is finalized, with placeholder dimensions; we adjust the cut file once the venue measurements are confirmed.

Table Numbers

Custom wood table numbers are the small detail that makes a reception feel curated. Format: numbers 1 through whatever-the-highest-table-is, cut from 5mm Baltic birch, sized 5-7 inches per number, with tabletop base or low easel for display.

Two style options. Cut-out numbers — the digit shape is the entire piece, no rectangular surround. Modern minimalist look. Engraved plaques — small rectangular wood plaques with the number engraved into the surface. More traditional, more visible from across the room.

Seating Charts

A wood-fabricated seating chart is a 24-36 inch sign listing guest names and table assignments, displayed at the entrance to the reception. Format: large rectangle of 12mm Baltic birch with engraved or painted text in two columns.

This is the highest-effort piece for the production team because the design depends on guest list finalization, which often happens within 7-10 days of the wedding. We pre-cut the wood blank 4-5 weeks early and engrave the names once the final list is locked, typically 1-2 weeks before the wedding. Rush turnaround is built into the workflow.

Material: maple is excellent for this format because of the engraving contrast — names read clearly from across a room. Baltic birch with a darker stain works too.

Direction and Information Signs

Smaller pieces that handle wayfinding and information at the venue. Bar sign, cards & gifts table sign, guestbook sign, restrooms direction, parking direction, hashtag sign for social media, cake-cutting time announcement. Each is typically 8-12 inches wide on 5mm Baltic birch.

These are inexpensive per-piece but add up across a full wedding — 8-12 small signs is typical for a complete wedding setup. Most planners order them as a coordinated package in one font and finish for visual consistency.

Modern minimalist: Bebas Neue or Montserrat font, white paint on 12mm birch. Clean, contemporary, works in industrial venues, museum-style spaces, and modern outdoor weddings.

Rustic / outdoor: Caveat (handwritten) or Lobster font, raw natural birch with hardwax oil. Casual, warm, suits barn weddings, garden ceremonies, and farmhouse-style receptions.

Mixed-style weddings can combine: family name in script (romantic), table numbers in sans-serif (modern), backdrop in script — but pick one anchor font and one secondary at most. Three or more competing fonts read as inconsistent rather than custom.
